A private detective (Tom Conway) is investigating a jewel robbery in a fashion house, but things get mores sinsiter when of the models is killed and then more people are killed. Tom Conway gives his typical private detective character based on his popular Falcon character. The plot does get a bit convoluted and has a few twists particularly at the end but does suffer from a few implausable scenes. This is one of few crime dramas made by Hammer in the early 1950s with this one directed by Terence Fisher who directed a number of films for them. The title comes from the colour of the dress the two murdered girls were wearing.
